Lake Barrington Shores
As a seven year resident of Lake Barrington Shores Wayne's only regret is that he didn't make the move sooner. Wayne and his wife, JoAnne, enjoy peaceful walks around the beautiful lake and 1st class dining at the clubhouse restaurant.

When the grandchildren visit, the pool and beach become a popular place. The marina offers sail boats, canoes, row boats & pontoon boat rides for family and friends.

One of the many activities they enjoy is a Friday evening, each month, at the recreation center, dancing to our resident disk jockey.

Nature Enthusiast
Often seen with binoculars in hand, Wayne, an avid bird watcher, is often spotting new birds to add to his ever growing list. Crabtree Nature Center & Baker's Lake are frequent stops, especially during the migration season. 

Last year's highlight included spotting a piliated woodpecker and a bald eagle while on a fall trip to Green Lake, Wisconsin.
 
While in South Carolina, at a tidal marsh 2 years ago, Wayne and JoAnne watched as an osprey dove and captured a fish only to be chased by a bald eagle until he was forced to drop his prize. What a special moment!

A few years ago Wayne received a spotting scope for Christmas. On a January trip to Tucson, Arizona, Wayne and JoAnne got to see their first roadrunner along with thousands of wintering sandhill cranes.

Wayne and his wife recently enjoyed touring the beautiful country of Costa Rica. From the village of Tortuguero on the Atlantic through the rain forest of the central highlands and down to the Pacific coast at Tamarindo, every turn in the road brought a new vista and discovery of the abundant wildlife. They saw howler monkeys swinging through the trees, huge iguanas and a sloth that seemed to sit silently for hours high in the forest canopy.  

The Sporting Life
An avid golfer, Wayne enjoys the Championship Golf Course at Lake Barrington Shores and has been an active "Shoresman", winning the 2002 "B" flight tournament and again repeating in 2003.

He is also a regular at Stonehenge Golf Course. This challenging course features many water holes with quite a few personal donations on Wayne's part. This past year Wayne enjoyed golfing at nearby Foxford Hills Golf Club where he was able to get 7 pars during the round.

In past winters JoAnne & Wayne were members of the "Highrollers" bowling league where they get to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones. A highlight for Wayne was getting a 239 game, finishing with 6 straight strikes and an all time high series of 579.
